John Lennon Japanese museum says goodbye on its website,

The John Lennon museum in Japan locked its doors for the final time Thursday. A statement announcing the closure was posted on the museum's website.

Here's the full text: "The John Lennon Museum has closed its doors on September 30, 2010 upon the expiration of the license agreement between Ms. Yoko Ono.

"We are pleased to say that the Museum has been loved by everyone, receiving approximately 610,000 visitors from home and around the world for ten years since its opening on October 9, 2000.

"We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to every visitor and everyone involved.

"Though the Museum has closed, we believe that John Lennon's works and spirit will continue to spread around the world.

"Thank you very much for your generous support over the past years. -- John Lennon Museum".
