Supermodel Sells Art,

Sotheby's will sell 14 contemporary artworks from the collection of 1970s and 1980s supermodel (and former Mick Jagger paramour) Jerry Hall in London on Oct. 15 and 16. The sale is concurrent with the city's prestigious Frieze Art Fair.

Headlining the collection, according to the auctioneer, are Lucian Freud's Eight Months Gone, which he painted after he met Ms. Hall at a dinner party, and Andy Warhol's Dollar Sign, which he gave to Ms. Hall in payment for her appearances on his television show, Warhol TV. Works by Frank Auerbach, Robert Graham and Damien Hirst are also on the block, alongside additional portraits of the model by Ed Ruscha and Francesco Clemente.

Sotheby's, in the price estimates it has assigned—the whole trove is expected to fetch about a modest $1.8 million—seems to either be taking the economy very much into account, or the fact that the seller was better known to an earlier generation. The priciest piece is the Freud, estimated at upward of $360,000. Ms. Hall told Sotheby's that Mr. Freud insisted on painting her immediately after they met, given her delicate condition. The artist told her: "We have to be quick—before you have the baby."
